Find out what we support and how. Join our efforts to improve our democracy.
The League of Women Voters takes action on an issue or advocates for a cause based on existing League positions that supports the issue or speaks to the cause.
Positions result from a process of study. Any given study, whether it be National, State, or Local, is thorough in its pursuit of facts and details.
Without a position, action/advocacy cannot be taken. In the absence of a local position, local Leagues can take action based on state positions or those of the national League.
Visit our Positions page to view LWVHC Positions. Also see LWVC and LWVUS for additional positions.
Our members attend various government meetings and observe democracy at work. Observers may report to the League's Action Chair about anything they feel is not in line with an open and informed democracy or they may hear about a cause that the League should support.
If you have an interest in observing government meeting for the League contact us!
Visit our Observers page.
When we decide to take an action, the first step is writing a letter of our findings and recommendation to the government entity. Letters we've served are available on our Action Letters
