Forum: 2010 Census
The National League is among hundreds of organizations and corporations that have committed to a partnership with the 2010 Census. It is vitally important for everyone to be counted. The government uses data from the Census to allocate more that $400 billion in federal funds and to draw boundaries for political districts.
We are holding a forum about the 2010 Census on February 25 at 6 P.M., location to be announced. We have invited Linda Clark, from the Census district office in Seattle, to speak about the importance of the Census and how the data is used. Elaine Dempsey, the program specialist for the local Census office, will speak about the Census process and what is expected of each individual. Phillip Smith-Hanes, the county Administrative Officer, will address the impact of the Census on Humboldt County.
